This class provides an understanding of socially engaged art as a creative endeavor. In this course students will view, discuss, critique, and create a variety of artworks in an investigation of the place where aesthetics and social engagement meet. They will create and engage in art in the public sphere, both collaboratively and individually, that speaks to current social and/or political issues.

Prerequisites: Sophmore status, recommended that all Studio Foundations classes be completed.
